How do I get started at Spa Paw & Tail?

Please read over our rules and policies, complete the pet care agreement, dog or cat profile, and sign the house rules. You can submit those documents right through our website. We will also require a copy of your current vaccination records. This can be faxed directly from your veterinarian to 262-784-7298.

How do I make a reservation at Spa Paw & Tail?

You can make your reservation simply by clicking on the type of reservation being requested, emailing us at spapawandtail@live.com or calling 262-784-7297. Either approach will return a confirmation.

What do I need to make a reservation?

A valid credit card or other method of applying an amount equal to a one night stay at Spa Paw & Tail. We will not confirm a reservation until the deposit is received.

What vaccinations are required in order to stay at Spa Paw & Tail?

For our canine guests we require Rabies, DHPP and Bordetella. Although Bordetella is considered an annual vaccination it is suggested that animals who regularly attend social settings be vaccinated every 6 months. Spa Paw & Tail requires this unless excused in writing by your veterinarian. Vaccinations that are required for our feline guests are Rabies, FELV and FVRCP.
Spa Paw & Tail will honor Titer testing with a signed waiver. Please understand that your pet will be at risk and Spa Paw & Tail is in no way responsible for contact illnesses.

What is the bordetella vaccination and why should my pet receive it? What if they have never had it?

The bordetella vaccination HELPS to protect your pet from kennel cough. As with many illnesses are there are many strains of kennel cough so the vaccination is NOT guaranteed to protect but certainly is helpful in prevention. If your pet has never had the vaccination or a year has lapsed since the vaccination then Spa Paw & Tail requires 11 days to lapse once the pet receives the vaccination. This 11 days will be sufficient to identify if the pet had been exposed to kennel cough or their immune system had been compromised. We must adhere to this approach to maintain our disease management system and keep all of our guests healthy and happy.

What will the accommodations be like for my pet? I have never boarded before…..

Well this is the perfect facility to start with. Your pet will be spoiled from the time they arise in the morning until they are quietly tucked in at night. Our lodging guests play throughout the day with our daycamp guests. They rise very early to begin their romping then break for breakfast. Once rested after a hardy breakfast they are free to run and play some more. While breaking once an hour for water they will have the opportunity to get a 5 minute rest period before getting back at it again. We eventually break for nap at 11 AM to 1 PM. This break time is very appreciative by our guest. We turn down the lights and the soothing naptime music puts them right to sleep. At 1 PM the fun starts all over again. The day is full of activities and fun. Each luxurious suite offers a cot style bed, full view glass door, plenty of space for stretching out or walking around, fully vented ceiling and privacy walls between neighbors. The entire facility is climate controlled and always kept at a comfortable setting.

Can I bring my dog’s bed, blanket and toys into Spa Paw & Tail?

Yes you may. However, if your pet is a “chewer” we request that anything that can be shredded not to be brought in for your pet’s safety. Spa Paw & Tail offers raised cot beds. These beds are certainly comfortable enough without bringing anything from home.

What is included in the rate for boarding at Spa Paw & Tail?

The rate of $37.00 each night is all inclusive of feedings, medication administration, treat distribution, unlimited playtimes, all suite accommodations, cot bedding, stainless steel dishes, unlimited belly rubs and the best darn time they ever had.

Feline guest-All multi-level condo accommodations, beds, litter and litter box, stainless steel dishes, toys, free-time on the cat tree and kitty playground.

What is Spa Paw & Tail’s policy on dogs with aggression?

For the safety and comfort of our guests and staff we CAN NOT accept any pet with human aggression. However, if a pet is pet aggressive and easily managed by the staff we offer our Special Care program. This program while more costly affords our facility to maintain the utmost in safety standards. Special Care dogs will be walked and played with on an individual basis. They are offered plenty of activities and walk throughout the day. They will even enjoy lounge time to relax and watch animal movies. The fee for Special Care if $45.00 per day/night.

Do you provide grooming at Spa Paw & Tail?

Oh do we? That is a specialty around here. You just can’t schedule a full Spa Paw & Tail vacation without a visit to our spa. We offer facials, pawdicures, massage, shedless treatments, etc…You name it and we do it. AHHHHHH SPA!
Will you give my pet medication? Yes we will. We don’t even charge extra for doing it. We keep a medication chart on their suite so that we track when it was given.

What will my pet eat while at Spa Paw & Tail?

You will need to PRE-PACKAGE your pets food into portioned meals. This can be done in baggies or containers. At your request these will also be returned. We do not have house food so food will be necessary at time of arrival. We do carry a full line of Fromm Family foods. If your pet is to run out of food during their stay a 5 pound bag of Fromm will be added to your invoice.

Are there any breeds that Spa Paw & Tail will not accept?

No but some may need letters of recommendation from trainers, vets or other daycares. Others may go through extensive temperament testing before admitting. We do offer special care daycare for those who are not suited for group play.

Is there an interview before my pet can come to Spa Paw & Tail?

No, as our profile documents state, the pet parent is 100% responsible for their pet’s actions. Therefore we rely on the honest of the pet parent to point out any and all warnings. From there we take very slow action to introduce our new
guests to our playgroups. All of our guests are closely supervised and play is kept at a calm but fun level at all times.
My female dog is in heat. Will you accept her to stay at Spa Paw & Tail? No sorry but on a case by case basis we may arrange in-home sitting for an existing client.

Do you accept intact males at Spa Paw & Tail?

Yes, they are placed in our Special Care program and will not be offered group play. They will enjoy plenty of exercise, walks, playtime and lounge time to watch movies. This service is $45.00 per day/night.

What is the cancellation policy and can I get my deposit back?

During NON-HOLIDAY periods you are welcome to cancel your reservation 3 days prior to arrival. Any reservation cancelled within 3 days of the arrival date will FORFEIT their one night deposit. During HOLIDAY periods we have a 5 day cancellation policy. Any reservation cancelled within 5 days of arrival date forfeits the deposit equal to one night stay.

What if I need to drop off or pick up before or after business hours?

We will always try to work with you on drop off and pick up times. Please call a representative to discuss prior to visit. Extra fees do apply for this service.
